After retiring from Chrysler Corp. in Detroit, MI in 1995, Ms. Rodgers returned to her home state, Alabama.
Having strong bonds with her family, Ms. Rodgers committed herself to assisting her brother Eddie Rodgers in opening Rodgers BBQ restaurant chain. This experience re-ignited her passion for entrepreneurship that had been passed on to her from her parents, Fannie & Eddie Rodgers. This awakened passion inspired her to open J. Rodgers BBQ in Saraland, Alabama.
Devoted to seeing others succeed, she uses J. Rodgers as a haven for youth by providing them with jobs and teaching them the importance of having respect for themselves and others, a good work ethic, excellent customer service, and an entrepreneurial spirit. Also recognizing pursuing a higher education can be a financial burden, the Fannie & Eddie Rodgers scholarship was was established in 2019 as an honor to her parents.
An avid believer in giving back to the community, Ms. Rodgers is active in her church where she teaches Sunday school classes as well as devotes time to the youth by sponsoring local youth athletic teams and serving as a proud member of the Saraland, Alabamba School Board.
